School Based Therapy

School-based therapy is the most convenient way to access mental health treatment for your child. Blue Tree currently provides licensed, professional, clinical therapists at Monroe Elementary School and Jefferson Elementary School in Davenport, IA, and Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, IA. Many parents/caretakers/guardians, for a multitude of reasons, have difficulty getting their child to and from therapy appointments. Not only does school-based therapy make mental health treatment accessible, it also makes it convenient for families. School-based therapy allows for your child to be seen right at school, during their school day. In addition, therapists can collaborate and problem solve with your child’s teacher and other school professionals in order to improve any in-school issues and be an advocate for your child. Some parents are concerned about their child missing class. Therapists are able to work around your child’s schedule so they are missing as minimal academic time as possible. School-based therapy is not any different than what your child would receive in an outpatient center. We address a multitude of mental health issues that may be affecting your child inside or outside of school. Therapy provides children a way to feel heard and cared for, which in turn, helps a child be more successful at school, home, and all situations and environments.
