Blue Tree Counseling & Consultation was created in 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the intention to alleviate barriers for children and families accessing mental health services. Having spent numerous years working in schools throughout Scott County and developing relationships along the way, four therapists partnered with area schools to offer therapy to their student populations.

As therapists working with individuals and families, we feel that we are doing our best work in a community setting. We acknowledge that our child clients are often in positions where they don't have complete control of their lives, so collaboration with their families and schools is essential. This also allows our clients to see the natural supports that they already have in place and work to strengthen those relationships.

Our Blue Tree therapists want to ensure that EVERY client is treated with respect and given the dignity that they deserve. We strive to provide a service that is trauma informed, affirming, and that creates a healing space to discuss all issues related to age, race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, economic status, ability, legal status, and religion/spirituality practices/beliefs without fear of judgement or consequences. This is a learning process for all of us, and we welcome the opportunity for our clients to educate us on their perspectives, thoughts, feelings and beliefs related to any of the above areas. Our clients are the experts of their own lived experiences.
